Gary and Joann Wolschleger Barn / Liberty Block

GARY AND JOANN WOLSCHLEGER BARN
1840 Schock Rd.
Harbor Beach, MI 48441
Block: Liberty
Size: 8'x8'

The original barn burned in 1967. We married in 1969 and rebuilt the barn in the same spot in 1973.
It was 40' X 72' and it held 80 head of feeders. In 1989 we built a lean-to on the west side that is 40' X 88'.
It housed an additional 80 feeders for a total of 180 head of cattle. This barn design was selected for its
high pitched roof. We chopped our straw and blew it into the tall mow holding enough straw for the following year.

We selected this patriotic quilt block in honor of those who serve our country. Our son, Sgt. Jared Wolschleger, served
in the Army for six years. His tours included Iraq and Afghanistan. Our grandson, Jon Michael, is in the Army Reserves (2 years)
and grandson Jacob serves in the Navy (6 years).
