Block: Double Irish Chain

*The Ten Cent Horse Barn is located on Longuski Lane, Ubly, MI - but does not have a "house number."
The Barn is next to the Cass River on M-19, across from the Drag Strip on the south side of town.

The story of our square is:

During the Great Fire of 1881, Joseph and Elizabeth (Sparling) McDonall of Tyre
soaked a quilt of this pattern with water and used it to cover five children to protect
them from the smoke and flames. This quilt is on display in the museum.
