C. ROGGENBUCK FARM
3110 Johnston Rd.
Port Hope, MI 48468
Block: Red School
Block Size: 8'X8'
The barn was built in 1951 from lumber off of our farm. I was 7 years old and it was the first building
I helped to drive nails into. This is still an active farm. Originally we housed our dairy cattle, now we raise beef cattle.
The barn has a hip roof with slate shingles.
The Red School was a one room country school 1 3/4 miles from our farm. I attended school there
until high school, as did our children. The school was open from 1887-2000. The address for the school
is 4500 Filion Rd. It is currently painted white and serves as the Bloomfield Township Hall.
