Richter Barn / Carnival Block

RICHTER BARN
6611 E. Sanilac Rd.
Kingston, MI 48741
Block: Carnival

The Richter Barn is located 1 1/4 miles east of Kingston on the north side of M-46.
(M-46 is also known as E. Sanilac Rd. in Kingston.)

From the 1939 date of the family getting the farm, the barn has continually improved.
It was a reclaimed / recycled barn built most likely in the 1920's with a used steel
roof that leaked.

An interesting feature of this barn is that it is a great bat habitat and is home to
dozens of barn swallows.

Mr. Richter joined the Thumb Quilt Trail to showcase his barn and to show
people's art on a BIG canvas!
