The farm of 40 acres was obtained in a trade for a house in Detroit.  The house and barn were over 100 years old
when the trade was made in 1943.  The barn was originally an L-shape, but the west side was blown in and
removed before we purchased the farm from a family member in 1977.  The barn was in production of cows,
chickens and pigs.  The farm also had horses until 2008. 

We chose the “Colorado Block” design because the wife is from Colorado, whose colors are red, white and blue.
The red stands for a barn, while the sky is white and a blue cross.
