Hellebuyck Farm / Heritage Block

HELLEBUYCK FARM
2985 Bradford Rd.
Fairgrove, MI 48733
Block: Heritage
Size: 8'x8'

This barn was built around 1915 by my grandfather, Julius Hellebuyck. He cleared the land of the trees for farming
and used that lumber to build the barn. The barn still has the cow stalls and haymow, where the straw was stored.
The wood pulley system with ropes and a straw lift is still in the barn.

The design of the quilt was made of colors of the flags of Belgium, Germany, Poland and the good old U.S.A.
We are very proud of the big "H" in the middle for Hellebuyck. The name of the quilt block is Heritage and is in honor
of family members who have passed.
