September 1906 Enoch Brown purchased this farm. Great Grandpa Brown “Enoch” built the barn in 1910. He milked the cows and
planted feed for the cattle. April 1923 Grandpa Brown “Enoch Arthur” continued farming in the same way until he sold the cows in the mid 60’s .
He then had a cow/calf operation with beef cattle and continued growing feed for them. April 1975 we started crop farming and in 1980
started milking cows. Once again we continued running the farm as our Grandparents did. In 1990 we torn down all the old buildings
on the farm except the barn and house and we re-built. After 35 years of milking in August of 2015 we retired from milking and sold
our dairy herd. As of now we plan on continuing crop farming as long as the Lord allows. During our life on the farm and raising our
daughters, we always had a “Jersey” cow and for the last 15 years we had “Faith” the oldest cow on the farm. That is why we chose
“Faith” for our quilt block.
