Bad Axe Historical Society Log Cabin / Log Cabin Block

LOG CABIN VILLAGE

Bad Axe City Park
203 S. Hanselman St.
Bad Axe, MI 48413
Block: Log Cabin

The Schave barn was built in 1872 and was owned by William Schave from Port Hope.
The barn escaped being burned in the Great Fire of 1881 which ravaged Huron County.
Earl and Bryce Schave families donated the barn to the Bad Axe Historical Society in 1991.

The Log Cabin block was selected because the Schave barn is a part of the Pioneer Log Village which has six log cabins.

Directions: 1 block east of the light in Bad Axe just past the Huron County Building.
